This is how I fall, choking on my words
Incomprehensible, dead to the world
Hide away, this pride is not meant for you anyway
I'm see-through
Be what you want, say what you mean
Have a voice and take no shame
Give what you can, take what you need
Anything to win the race
When advice doesn't work and it's bringing you down
It takes perseverance to make it through
When the backstabbers dragged my name through the dirt
My memory is vivid
When the grapevine is gospel and cutting throats is key
Every day is a struggle and the struggle is real
It lingers in the air
It's the cause and effect that makes you want to die
From the bottom of my heart I thank my friends
For teaching me to live again
This is how I fall, but I'm glad I was caught
So please, invest in those who need something to go on
And you might save a life
Be what you want, say what you mean
Have a voice and take no shame
Give what you can, take what you need
Anything to win the race
The advice didn't work and it brought me down so low
It took perseverance but I made it through
